I think it will be worth the trouble to change, and PUArcade is a better long term solution. Here is why:
1. I offer the best support of any Arcade component. Ask around, look in the forums. I answer every question, I go out of my way to help everyone. This is a real community driven product, and it shows.
2. My component is free and open source. Always has been, always will be.
3. When people request new features, I add them! Really! Look through the feature requests forums. You'll find many marked "Done". Why don't I have "Auto score deletion"? Well, nobody has asked for it.
4. PUArcade is the most actively developed Arcade component available. Since January, we've released several versions, and each version has added MAJOR features. The component is getting better every month, and will continue to do so.
5. We have some CB integration already, via CB plugins. I have code to integrate CB, various comment systems, shoutboxes, forums, and more. I just haven't included it in the core product because I don't know if I want that to be a part of my component. I'm happy to share this code with anyone who wants to add integration themselves though.
6. PUArcade already supports V3Arcade, PNFlashgames, PHPBB-Arcade and IBProArcade. That support is only going to get better.
7. VERY soon, there will be an automated way to migrate games and scores from other popular arcade components.
8. My code isn't encrypted. Want to change the look of the arcade? Go ahead! I'll even tell you specifically where the presentation related code is!
9. My component doesn't "phone home" or anything like that to validate licensing or some such nonsense. Also, no banners or annoying advertising. There is a small footer, which you can, of course, remove!
I don't think I took the V3 code from anywhere in particular. I decompiled a couple V3 games to see how they sent their scores. Then, I coded my Arcade to accept them. If you want to use my V3 code, you are free to do so, under the terms of the GPL. V3 support is very simple to add compared to PNFlashGames or IBProArcade.
Good Luck!
