Ok here's a j1.0.x version. as my screen name says i'm just a tinker and consider my coding skills minimal at best, so if you find and issues don't say I didn't warn you. Issues I currently see:

1:It won't add a medal to profile until one is manually given to someone first

2: The shout doesn't seem to happen until the page with the module is refreshed after the contest ends.

Again, I didn't install it on j1.5 to see if the problems are pre exiting.
Shoutbox feature in this version is for SMO Shoutbox.I anyone can make improvements let me know

I do have some Informations to you:

1) It won't add a medal to profile until one is manually given to someone first --> on my Site it added the Medall to the Players Profile just perfect, but it might be because i was running jawaeds already before!

2) The shout doesn't seem to happen until the page with the module is refreshed after the contest ends. --> On my Site the Shout happend without a Refresh, so this Function was also ok!

Only Question i still would have is: How can i change the Language of the Words? is it hardcoded?

First thanks for having made it work with 1.0x,
I'm happy I didn't setup a joomal 1.0x with cb , pua, jawards and shoutboxes for this (I was thinking about it but hopefully you made it)

I confirm this, the module doesnt not create the award tables it uses already existing ones, so for new medals, rewarding the admin first seems to be a good option.

I confirm this also, this is not an issue, it's just the way it works, module loading triggers events.

DONE:
It has more display options (medal picture or not etc... thanks knoxben
It can now archive contests history in a joomla content category

TODO (next week):
- Option to automaticaly reset game scores on contest start
- CB plugin to diplay a user's past won contests of the month from contest archive (good thing is it might be compatible for both joomla version)
- another module to show top 'contest winners' (might also be compatible for both joomla versions

What else do you think?

I'd like to see this turned into a component including the new features youe listso multiple contest could be listed and displayed on one page with ease.

For now how about listing the top 3 players while the contest is active instead of just the leader?

Now that i have changed the Language to german, everything works fine

only 1 Issue i can report.....

When i create a Contest and it gets finsihed, a Medal is given to the Winner. When i now start a new Contest and this one is also finished, then the first given Medal gets ereased by the newer one. So it is not possible to get a History in Winning Contests.

Only Chance to get it done right now is to create for each Contest a unique Medal. But then the Overviewlist of all given Medals, which i am using, is getting very long in short Time.

Anyway i want to thank tinker who made it possible for joomla 1.0 and of course to adroussel, who came up with this great Module

About the possible upcoming Features:

1) CB Plugin would be wonderfull Addition
2) The Module "Conntest Winners" would be also great to have

No. Actually this contest uses only one medal, it's like 'le maillot jaune' in 'Le tour de France' when someone wins the contest, he gets the medal and the older winner loses it. That way even old winners will compete to new contests to get the medal back.

The history/ archive allready works on my home version. When contest is over, it posts in joomla content the date, the game and the winner with links etc...
the score deletion on contest start also works, it also now shouts for new contest... still checking and testing but everything looks fine... I'll start the CB plugin tomorrow

displaying the top 3 of the contest is a must, I'll do it next

Not sure I like that...hmm. I'd prefer to let the users keep their medals as they have an awards tab in their profiles and my fireboard was modified to show 2 random medals under their post info.
Now I see why it can't create the first medal. You used and "update" call in the query. If is changed to and "insert" will it work or will it add a medal everytime the module load..unfortunately this is where my skills will be lacking

okay now this is clear. On that Way really the Players will try to win the Medal back
History/archive really would be good so the Players can look back to their better Days

I hav a Question about Language: I changed all necassary Words into german but did i simple miss the Code for the Time or is it somewhere else? I mean the Words "Days" "Hours" "Minutes" on the Bottom of the Module. Is there a Chance to get them also into German? Are they also in the default.php ?

It won't be turned into a component, themodule will have these features.

This module is just existing to wait the time the Main PU contest function works on PUARCADE.

All the features from this module had allready been thought by Pragma I guess. The puarcade component contest will be much more interesting as you'll be able to add many games to one contest... etc...

Shoutbox issue needs some looking into. I had multiple people surfing the page the module is on this morning and when the contest ended the announcment repeated 7 times in the shoubox.

Sorry I can not support 1.0x version as I havent made it.

The version I made for j1.5 and RISP Shoutbox only should shout once as: as soon as the contest is time over and the module displayed once, it shouts and updates the gameid to Null so it doesn't shout anymore.

check in your 1.0x version if after shouting, the module parameters are updated correctly (gamid set to null and time parameters reset)

So now this thread is talking about 2 different versions, when we talk about issues we should specify what version it is in the very beginning of the post.
