PUArcade 2.0 and greater allow the installation of many different types of games. There are two different ways to do it: one at a time, and bulk upload. Installing new games is very easy, just follow the directions below! One at a Time Method: - Download a new game to install. You can find these in a number of places. Here is a forum post that contains a list of websites that offer games: Click Here.
- Typically, the games will be downloaded in zip files. You'll have to unzip them first. There should be a .swf file, a .gif file, and sometimes a .txt file for each game.
- Log into your Joomla administrative console.
- Select Components -> PUArcade -> Manage Games as shown in the image below.

- Click on the "New" button, as shown in the image below.

- Browse for the .swf file, and enter it in the game file field, as shown in the image below. This is the actual game file itself.
- Browse for the .gif file, and enter it in the image file field. This is the image that will show up for the game.
- Enter a title for the game. This can be anything you want.
- Enter a description for the game. You can use any of the WYSIWYG features, including smilies, bold, italics, etc.
- You can leave the defaults for height, reverse scoring, width, and background color unless the game comes with a txt file that indicates special settings. For example, some games will come with a text file called size.txt. If your game includes this file, it will have a height and width inside. Use those values instead of the defaults.
- Click Upload

- If all went according to plan, the game should now be installed. To make it appear in your arcade, you need to publish it, just like any other content item. Simply click the red x. It will change to a green check, indicating that the game is now correctly published. See image below.

Installing Games in bulk or from zip files 1. Open your Joomla Administrator Control Panel. 2. Go to the PUArcade control panel located in Components->PUArcade. 3. Click on the icon labeled “Upload Archive”. This will open a form. 4. Select a zip or tar file using the browse box. Inside this zip file, there should be your game file, your image file, and an install file in PNFlash or IBP format, which will be an ini or php file respectively. This archive file can also contain multiple nested archive files as described above. This archive file can have one of the following extensions: -zip -tar -gz 5. Select the Folder you want to put the game(s) into. 6. Select whether or not you want the game(s) published on install. 7. Click “Upload”. The game(s) will be installed and viewable.
