Current versions (2.1.0 or higher): - Backup everything, files and databases. Just in case.
- Uninstall PUArcade using the normal Joomla administrator interface.
- Install the upgrade using the normal Joomla administrator interface.
- Test your installation thoroughly. Make sure all of your games and scores are still present.
- Go ino PUArcade settings and configure. There are usually new options in new releases, so it makes sense to go through the settings and get everything how you like it.
Older versions (2.0.1, 2.0.2, or 2.0.3): - Backup everything, files and databases. Just in case.
- Rename your /components/com_puarcade folder to /components/com_puarcade_old
- Rename your /administrator/components/com_puarcade folder to /administrator/components/com_puarcade_old
- Uninstall puarcade using the Joomla administrator interface.
- Install the new version using the Joomla administrator interface.
- Copy /components/com_puarcade_old/games to /components/com_puarcade/games if you are using up to version 2.0.3. For version 2.1, you need to copy them to /components/flash instead.
- Copy /components/com_puarcade_old/images to /components/com_puarcade/images up until version 2.0.3. For version 2.1, you need to copy them to /components/images instead.
- Test your installation thoroughly. Make sure all of your games and scores are still present.
- If everything tests out ok, you may remove the /components/com_puarcade_old and /administrator/components/com_puarcade_old folders.
NOTE! It is recommended that you only upgrade 1 version at a time. Upgrading from 2.0.0 to 2.0.4, for example, may have unexpectd results.
