It is possible to take a flash game off of another website running PUArcade. Please only do this if you have permission from the game author. The process varies depending on what browser you have, but here are the instructions if you are using Firefox: - Go to the web page that has the game you want on it.
- Click Tools from the menu at the top of Firefox.
- Select "Page Info"
- On the "Page Info" screen, select the tab that says "Media"
- Scroll through the items in the list of media, until you find one where the type field says "Embed".
- Select the Embed, which should be a SWF file, and click "Save As".
- Save the file in a folder. Now you have the game file itself. Next, lets get the thumbnail image.
- Go to the game selection page and find the game you want in the list.
- Right click on the thumbnail for the game you want, and click "Save Image As". Save the image into the same folder as the SWF file you gathered above.
- Now that we have the image, the only other thing we need to know is the size of the game. Go to the screen where you could play the game. Click View from the top Firefox Menu, and select "Page Source".
- Select "Edit" from the top menu on the source page, and choose "Find".
- Enter this text to find: "Object Classid="
- On that line will be "Height=XXX" and "Width=XXX" where XXX are the value for height and width. Record them in a text file and put them into the folder with the other files.
Thats it! Now you have everything you need to install the game in PUArcade. REMEMBER: It is YOUR responsibility to make sure you have permission to use that game!
