Why Don't My IBProArcade games save scores? |
|
Wednesday, 25 July 2007 |
PUArcade uses a mambot (plugin) to allow IBProArcade and older PNFlash games to save scores without the use of a hack. This mambot is installed automatically with PUArcade, but sometimes that automatic install doesn't work quite right. Here is what you can do to troubleshoot the issue: - Is the game an IBProArcadeV2 game, or a V32 game? V32 games are only supported in PUArcade version 2.1.3 or newer. Please be sure to upgrade to the latest arcade to make sure you can use all the available games.
- Do you have a mambot installed and published called "PUArcade System Bot"? If it is there, but not published, try publishing it. If it is not there, then the bot didn't get installed properly.
- Do you have the following folders in your website? You can use FTP or JoomlaXplorer to look:
/mambots/system/PUArcadeSys.php /mambots/system/PUArcadeSys.xml /newscore.php If you are missing either of those files, then the bot didn't get installed properly. - From the Joomla Administrator, if you go to Installers->Mambots, do you see the PUArcade System Bot entry there? Are all the fields complete (author, website, etc)? If not, then the bot didn't get installed properly.
If you came out of that saying "Well, my bot didn't get installed properly", click here for simple instructions to manually install the bot.
